To mark my 70th birthday in September and 46 years as a practising doctor I thought that rather than celebrate in style or have a knees up I would run the Vitality Big Half London Marathon on Sunday 22 August to raise money for St Francis Hospice and the London Air Ambulance.
Dame Cicely Saunders, who founded the Hospice Movement used to say,
“How people die remains in the memory of those who live on.”
There may come a time when we may need the kindness, care and compassion of a local Hospice we call St Francis. My dear sister Miriam Leff sadly passed away in St Francis in 2011.
The London Air Ambulance rescue and treat 5 seriously injured patients a day. One of them could be one of you could be now.
All charitable donations have taken a hit during the pandemic. Please donate. Not matter how little no matter how small.
